NEWSLETTER FOR TERM ONE 2024/2025

Welcome back to Faith Point Private School! We thank God for his love, protection and guidance over all our pupils, students, parents, Guardians, staff and our well-wishers. As we embark on the first term of the 2024/2025 academic year we look forward to an enriching and exciting academic year ahead.

ADMISSION POLICY

Children are admitted to Faith Point Private School and placed in age-appropriate class based upon information provided on a completed application form as well as from the school’s assessment. Faith Point Private School does not discriminate on the basis of background, race, color, gender, religion, nationality or ethnic origin.

 

ARRIVAL & COLLECTION TIME

Students/Pupils are expected to arrive in school by 7:15 am, Monday to Friday to ensure a smooth start to the day’s activities. School activities closes at 3:00pm for the primary pupils and 3:30pm for the college students on Mondays – Thursdays and 1:00pm on Fridays. The children are expected to be picked up from school on or before 4:00pm on Mondays – Thursdays and 2:00pm on Fridays. Late pickup will attract a fee of #2,000. Parents should please take note and utilize the waiting area as going into the classroom(s) is not allowed.

BREAKFAST CLASS

Our breakfast classes are still ongoing. To be part of this class, students/pupils are expected to be in school from 7:00am. Our objective is to refresh the children ahead of the day’s activities.

SCHOOL FEES/ SCHOOL FEES POLICY

All fees are payable per term in advance on or before the 3rd week of each term. All payments must be made to the school’s bank account and proof of payment should be sent to the school’s administrator to enable us keep records and issue receipts. Bear in mind that your child/children will not be admitted into the school if after three weeks of resumption part or all fees are not paid. All payments should be sent into the school’s account as cash payment is not allowed.

FIT AND PROPER

At Faith Point Private School, we see what our pupils/students wear and how they wear it as part of our image and identity. Also, uniforms plays a vital role in creating a safe environment for identification purposes.

As the term resumes, we expect all returning pupils/students to come to school in their complete uniforms for each day. New intakes are expected to get their uniforms from the school prior resumption. Fit and proper are the key words, let’s make this a tradition. Please note that the acceptable color of shoes and socks is black, while on Thursdays (Only) white sneakers and white socks, the acceptable color of jeans is navy blue or black. Parents are advised to note this because any child in other colors will not be allowed in school. Only proper haircut and hair styles for school is allowed. Hair beads, wigs, weave-ons and other forms of attachments are not allowed.

ASSEMBLY

Assembly takes place thrice a week on Monday mornings, Wednesday mornings and Friday mornings, on Tuesday mornings we have the gender assembly which comes up fortnightly/ the classroom assembly while on Thursday mornings we have our sport activities. We encourage all children to make it to assemblies as it is important to start the day with prayers while also building up their sense of civic responsibility to the country. Assembly starts at 7:45am.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Our co-curricular activities and clubs have been established to provide the students with a myriad of options in line with their interest. This co-curricular activities has been programmed to encourage the students to develop meaningful relationships, enjoy the benefits of exciting learning experiences and build their confidence. The pupils/students are encouraged to continue with the same club for the whole year in order to gain some level of mastery in the chosen club. Parents should note that pupils/students are expected to register for one co-curricular activity per term.

PTF MEETINGS

This will be held in a session, Date and time will be communicated as at when due

SPELL-A-THON

This programme has was introduced with the objectives; to enhance spelling skills of the learners; to boost reading comprehension; to develop their writing skills; to promote a self-reliance reader; to unveil the authors in the pupils/students. This programme will feature word puzzle, storytelling, spelling bee, word hunt e.t.c.. This programme will hold on 10th week of the term

 

FIRST TERM EXAMINATION

Our First Term Examination will commence on Monday 25th November 2024. Parents should ensure that pupils/students are given adequate time at home to prepare for examinations. Writing materials should be provided for each child so as to enable them write their exams.

END OF THE YEAR PROGRAM

This year end of the year program will hold in the school premises on Wednesday 11th December, 2024. It promises to be fascinating and thrilling.

VACATION DATE/COLLECTION OF RESULT BOOKLETS

The school will vacate on Friday 13th December, 2024 for the first academic term

RESUMPTION DATE

The school will resume back for the second academic term on Monday 6th January, 2025
